In the early morning of April 8, Wuhan officially lifted the control of the passage from Wuhan and Hubei and resumed external traffic in an orderly manner. In late March, medical teams from various provinces gradually returned home, but Li Jing, a doctoral student at Hangzhou Normal University's Medical College, still worked in Wuhan. She and her colleagues from the Central Steering Group held a meeting until late into the night one day to make work arrangements after isolation was lifted in Wuhan.

When COVID-19 broke out, Li Jing, who worked in the Medical Resources Department of the Medical Administration Bureau of the National Health Commission, joined the medical treatment group of the Central Steering Group. She worked with her colleagues to coordinate the deployment of high-quality medical resources nationwide, transfer excellent medical personnel to Hubei, and study and optimize the diagnosis and treatment plans for COVID-19 patients.

Li Jing worked in Beijing during the Spring Festival. At her busiest time, she has to make and answer nearly 100 phone calls a day, and take charge of everything from staff transfer to materials and equipment deployment, and from food, lodging, housing to transportation.

On the evening of February 4, due to work needs, Li Jing boarded an 8-hour train with his colleagues to Wuhan.

During her stay in Wuhan, Li Jing was mainly responsible for visiting hospitals to collect data on "severely ill patients" and discussing on death cases. Shuttling back and forth between major designated hospitals for severe cases would inevitably pose a serious risk of infection for her, but Li Jing and her colleagues didn’t cower back. "It is of great significance to summarize the daily inspections of severe cases, organize discussions on death cases, and accumulate useful experiences to treat patients and reduce the death rate of severe and critical patients." She said.

"Although isolation has been lifted in Wuhan, there are still many things to be done." She and her colleagues will continue to collect the information on the treatment of patients in designated hospitals and help non-designated hospitals restore normal medical order.

"She is not a frontline doctor, but as a doctor specializing in medicine, she has shouldered her responsibilities and set an example for us!” said Yin Xiaoyu, a doctor of Hangzhou Normal University’s Medical College.
