Statistics show that there are more than 6,600 overseas students and fellow-townsmen originally from Zhejiang's Zhuji in five continents. Recently, the United Front Work Department of Zhuji Municipal Party Committee, Zhuji Overseas Chinese Federation, Zhuji Overseas Chinese Students and their Families Association (hereinafter referred to as "the Association") swiftly set up a temporary working group for overseas epidemic prevention to send much-needed supplies and help to overseas Chinese students and compatriots of Zhuji, and to join hands with them to fight the pandemic.

WeChat Group to Answer Questions and Solve Problems

Before and after March 10, Zhuji’s Overseas Chinese Federation set up the mutual aid WeChat groups for epidemic prevention in five continents based on the original WeChat group, and there were administrators, information disseminators, and counselors in each group. At the same time, the administrators of each group recruited volunteers responsible for collecting information on the overseas Chinese in their region, answering questions about relevant policies, relieving anxiety, and providing materials. Besides, they were also responsible for persuading international students and compatriots for whom there was no need to return home to stay where they were to reduce the risks caused by their mobility.

In addition, Zhuji’s Overseas Chinese Federation worked with the Municipal Health Bureau to invite a professional medical team of psychologists and general practitioners into the groups to provide online consulting services.

Sending out masks to ensure the health of overseas compatriots

Since March 15, in addition to asking for information about relevant policies, many overseas Chinese sent thank-you messages in the groups after they received the masks sent from their hometown. They expressed their gratitude in the thank-you messages.

At the beginning of March, after setting up the WeChat groups, Zhuji’s Overseas Chinese Federation and Overseas Chinese Students Association began to recruit volunteers and set up nine working groups in charge of information, procurement, distribution, answering questions and services.

On March 13, the first batch of 10,000 masks was sent point-to-point to European countries where the epidemic was severe. On March 15, some overseas Chinese received the masks sent from the hometown.

Accurate Epidemic Prevention and Control through the Platform

"Relying on the overseas Chinese health information declaration platform, we collect overseas Chinese' willingness to return home in advance and keep abreast of their returning journey, so as to implement more effective and accurate quarantine measures after they return.” said Liang Guoqi, deputy director of Zhuji’s Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, "We should care about the health and safety of both overseas students and compatriots of Zhuji nationality and the Zhuji people.”

Up to now, more than 500 overseas students and compatriots of Zhuji nationality in more than 60 countries and regions have declared their return journey through the platform.

据统计，诸暨籍海外留学生、侨胞共有6600多人，分布在五大洲。近段时间，诸暨市委统战部、诸暨市侨联、诸暨市出国留学人员和家属联谊会（简称“留联会”）等火速行动，成立海外防疫临时工作群，为诸暨籍海外留学生、侨胞送去亟需的物资及帮助，与他们携手共抗疫情。

建微信群答疑解忧

3月10日前后，诸暨市侨联在原有微信群的基础上，以地区细分，成立了五大洲抗疫互助微信群，群内设置管理员、信息发布员、咨询答疑员。同时，由各个群管理员招募志愿者，负责该地区人员的信息摸排、政策答疑、情绪安抚、物资援助等工作，并劝说一些非必要回国的留学生及侨胞留在当地，减少因流动造成的风险。

另外，诸暨市侨联积极联系市卫健局，一支集心理、全科医生的专业医疗小队进入各群，提供线上咨询服务。

寄出口罩守护健康

3月15日开始，五大洲抗疫互助微信群里除了询问政策信息外，还出现了大量的感谢信息，原来，分散在各大洲的诸暨籍留学生、侨胞陆续拿到了家乡寄去的口罩，感动、温暖、安心都汇成了一句感谢。

早在3月初，诸暨市侨联和留联会成立海外防疫临时工作群后，便开始招募志愿者，成立了信息、采购、发放、答疑、服务等9个工作组。

3月13日，第一批1万只口罩率先点对点寄往当前疫情较重的欧洲国家。3月15日，便有海外侨胞收到了来自家乡的口罩。 

依托平台精准防控

“我们依托境外人员健康信息申报平台，提前收集海外侨胞的回国意愿，掌握回国行程，这样就可以及时做好他们落地后的相关安全隔离措施，做到全程跟踪，精准防控。”诸暨市侨办副主任梁国其说，“我们既要关心诸暨籍海外留学生、侨胞，也要对诸暨人民的健康安全负责。”

截至目前，已有来自60多个国家和地区的500多名诸暨籍海外留学生、侨胞通过平台申报了回国行程。
