On April 10, Yang Jun, an orthopedic doctor of Sanmen People's Hospital held an online conference with relevant enterprises. They have jointly developed the “Cross-Infection-Free Touching Device” based on clinical scientific research during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this small online conference, Yang Jun was more like an inventor than a clinician. He said, “During the pandemic, everyone pressed elevator buttons with paper tissue or toothpick to prevent infection. This has not only resulted in waste but also polluted the environment if these things are discarded at will. "

To solve this problem, Yang Jun, who was keen on designing inventions, began to consider inventing a touching device whose head could retract into a sealed cavity after people pressed elevator buttons, and then people pressed the disinfected buttons on the touching device to disinfect the head. In this way, not only will cross-infection be prevented but also the touching device can be repeatedly used, which is more environment-friendly.

Just a few days after Yang Jun had this idea, he noticed the announcement of the collection of scientific and technological achievements for fighting COVID-19 on China (Zhejiang) Medical Technology Development and Transformation Platform. According to the notice, any innovative achievements and products related to the diagnosis, protection, inspection, and testing of COVID-19 can be declared online and transformed into products through online cooperation with relevant enterprises and scientific research institutions.

"During the pandemic, clinical scientific research results can be shared through the Internet, which has greatly stimulated the enthusiasm of clinicians." Yang Jun told the reporter that many frontline clinicians had innovative ideas, but they were unable to transform them into products since they could not find any platform on which they could cooperate with relevant enterprises and scientific research institutions.

Within 24 hours after the online submission of the project application, the project entered the cooperation phase. Now, according to the characteristics of different users, Yang Jun designed different versions of the device, including "ultraviolet version", "disinfectant version" and "cartoon version", and has applied for several invention patents.

"The online cooperation during the pandemic has broken down the barriers among medical institutions, enterprises, and scientific research institutions. Thanks to the strategy of “Internet +”, the ideas of many frontline clinicians have been transformed into products.” The relevant person in charge of the provincial Medical Science and Technology Education Development Center said.
