The recent pandemic situation in Malawi has been tense with eight confirmed cases including one death. The government has recently adopted a series of control measures, but due to the enormous pressure of epidemic prevention and control and the serious shortage of epidemic prevention materials, the government is still overstretched in the fight against the epidemic.

Malawi's overseas Chinese of Zhejiang origin carried forward the spirit of "if one side is in trouble, all sides should support it”, and actively responded to the call of the Chinese Embassy in Malawi. The Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Malawi spontaneously donated masks, hand sanitizer, forehead thermometers, and other epidemic prevention materials to various government departments in Malawi to assist the Malawi government in its fight against the epidemic.

On 8 April, members of the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Malawi handed over the donated vaccination materials to the local immigration office, city hall and police station.

The ceremony was attended by Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce President Shan Jianping, Executive President Zhao Hanjun, Secretary-General Zheng Mingwei, Vice President Feng Yunguo, Vice President Chen Weijiang, and Council Member Bao Xinxin.

At the donation ceremony, the top authorities expressed their sincere thanks to all members of the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce and all overseas Chinese in Malawi.

The battle against the epidemic is constant. The Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Malawi warns that since the current epidemic situation in Malawi is worsening if it is not necessary, do not go out. When going out, please wear masks, do not shake hands, do not hug and keep a social distance of more than one meter. The Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Malawi wishes all overseas Chinese and foreigners to be safe. We believe that victory is coming if we make concerted efforts!

最近马拉维疫情形势紧张，目前已有8例确诊，其中一例死亡。日前政府已经宣布了一系列管控措施，但由于防控压力巨大，国家防疫物资严重不足，政府部门在对抗疫情时仍然捉襟见肘。 

马拉维的浙籍华人华侨发扬浙江人“一方有难，八方支援”的精神，积极响应中国驻大使馆的号召。马拉维浙江商会自发向马拉维多个政府部门捐赠口罩、洗手液、额温枪等防疫物资，以协助马拉维政府抗疫。

4月8日，马拉维浙江商会成员将捐赠的防疫物资分别与当地移民局、市政厅和警察局进行交接。 

参加仪式的有浙江商会会长单建平，常务会长赵汉骏，秘书长郑明伟，副会长冯云国，副会长陈伟江和理事包鑫鑫。

捐赠仪式上，各总局高层向浙江浙江商会全体成员以及华人华侨们致以诚挚的感谢。
