Xu Rong, secretary-general of Zhoushan Federation of Overseas Chinese Students, said, "the Federations of Overseas Chinese Students at all levels in Zhoushan City have opened five 24-hour 'Overseas Chinese Service Hotlines' to inform overseas Chinese and their families of the epidemic prevention and control policies and to help the overseas Chinese to be returning home declare health conditions and understand relevant policies.

Since last March, Zhoushan Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Zhoushan Overseas Chinese Federation have set up 18 WeChat groups of overseas Chinese in Germany, Italy, the United States, Britain, Canada, Japan, Australia, and other countries, 8 WeChat groups of the domestic families of overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese students, 8 WeChat groups of the overseas Chinese in Hong Kong and Macao, and 6 WeChat groups of the grassroots civil servants. With the help of Zhoushan Overseas Chinese Federation, the heads of overseas Chinese associations from relevant countries have joined WeChat Group to timely inform the group members of the contact of the embassies and consulates, the latest policies for overseas Chinese and students and the supply of medical materials for epidemic prevention, and advise overseas Chinese to quarantine at home and keep a social distance.

At present, more than 4,000 people have joined in the WeChat groups.

"The increase of WeChat Group members has provided more communication channels for the parents of overseas Chinese students. Some parents shared the tips for epidemic prevention on their children's' return trip in the Group, while others impressively encouraged each other and the kids staying abroad to take care of themselves,"  said Xu Rong, Secretary-General of Zhoushan Federation of Overseas Chinese Students.

It is reported that in order to ease the anxiety of overseas Chinese in the face of the epidemic, Zhoushan Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Overseas Chinese Federation notified the families of the overseas Chinese of the risks of travel during the epidemic. To carry out online medical consultation, Zhoushan Municipal Health Committee has set up a medical expert team of epidemic control experts and medical staff from the overseas WeChat groups to train overseas Chinese and overseas students in epidemic prevention and control.

With the spreading of epidemic abroad, overseas Chinese and students are facing the challenge of short supply of face masks. Zhoushan Federation of Overseas Chinese calls on overseas Chinese groups to prepare medical materials for epidemic prevention. At the same time, it also actively raised medical materials to help overseas Chinese fight against the epidemic. According to unconsolidated statistics, at present, Zhoushan Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Federation at all levels have provided 15 batches of aid and 190,000 masks to more than 10 overseas Chinese groups and cities in Nigeria, Japan, Italy, and the United States.

In addition, Zhoushan Overseas Chinese Federations at grass-root levels have also carried out activities to serve overseas Chinese according to the actual situation.

"During the Qingming Festival, the Overseas Chinese and Taiwan Compatriots Federation will provide services to sweep tombs on behalf of the compatriots who could not come home to sweep tombs in person, said Yao Xuqun, president of the Overseas Chinese and Taiwan Compatriots Federation of Jintang Town.

舟山市留联会秘书长徐荣说，“目前，舟山市、县（区）侨联共开通了5条24小时‘侨胞服务热线’，向海内外华侨、侨眷和留学人员及家属告知疫情防控政策，对于确定回国的人员提供健康申报、政策咨询等服务。”

自3月以来，舟山市侨办、市侨联实行专人“一对一”负责，面向德国、意大利、美国、英国、加拿大、日本、澳大利亚等国家建立舟山籍留学生及家属群，总共汇总了海外18个微信群、国内侨眷及留学人员等8个微信群、港澳地区8个微信群、基层6个工作专群。在舟山市侨联的牵线下，相关国家的侨团负责人和侨领加入微信群，及时发布使领馆联络方式、服务侨胞和留学生的最新政策，告知领取防疫物资等事项，引导侨胞非必须，不出门；非必须，不远行；非必须，不集聚。

目前，微信群覆盖面达4000多人。

“微信群的扩展拓展了留学生家长的交流渠道，一些家长在群里分享自己孩子回国行程中的‘防疫攻略’，还有一些家长在群里相互勉励，鼓励还在海外的孩子做好防护，非常令人感动。”舟山市留联会秘书长徐荣说。

据悉，为缓解侨胞面对疫情的焦虑情绪，舟山市侨办、侨联发出一封家书，告知流动风险；开展线上医疗咨询，由舟山市卫健委选派疾控专家和医务人员组成防疫专家组加入到海外各微信群，为侨胞和留学人员提供疫情防控相关知识。

随着国外疫情防控形势的日益严峻，口罩的紧缺成为困扰海外侨胞和留学生的难题。舟山市侨联号召广大海外侨团发挥组织作用，备好防疫物资，积极预防。同时，积极筹措防疫物资，助力侨胞抗击疫情。据不完全统计，目前舟山市各级侨办侨联已累计向尼日利亚、日本、意大利、美国等地10多个侨团及友好城市援助物资15批、口罩19万只。

此外，舟山基层侨联组织根据当地侨情实际，组织开展服务侨胞活动。

“清明节期间，我们侨台联合会针对侨胞因疫情影响无法过来扫墓的情况，提供代祭先祖的服务。”金塘镇侨台联合会会长姚旭群说。
