1. US President Donald Trump signed a $2.2 Trillion COVID-19 Rescue Bill


U.S. President Trump signed a $2.2 trillion aid plan on Friday to help companies and individuals cope with the economic recession caused by COVID-19 and to provide much-needed medical supplies to hospitals.


The rescue plan will be the largest fiscal relief measure ever passed by Congress and will provide cash to low-and middle-income families in the United States within three weeks. It will also provide $500 billion to help hard-hit industries, $350 billion as loans to small businesses and at least $100 billion to related health systems.



2. Number of Confirmed Cases Surges, Trump Orders GM to Produce Ventilators


On Friday (March 27), Trump ordered General Motors to start production quickly under the Defense Production Act. A few hours before the order was issued, General Motors announced that it planned to work with Ventec Life Systems to produce intensive care ventilators at its auto parts factory in Indiana.

3. U.S. Considers Sending Troops to Defend Northern Border Against Epidemic, Canada Objects


Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau objected on March 27 to the US plan to send troops to the northern border to arrest illegal border-crossing people who might have been infected with COVID-19.



4. Affected by COVID-19, "Real ID" to be implemented in October next year


Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf said on the 27th that due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the implementation of the "Real ID" originally scheduled for October 1 this year would be delayed by one year until October 1, 2021.



5. U.S. Stocks Rise 3% Due to Extended Alienation Order, Oil Prices Fall to 18-Year Low

6. 49% of U.S. Enterprises Consider Layoffs! 14% take unpaid leave, 37% stop recruitment


According to a Challenger, Gray & Christmas survey, nearly 50% of U.S. companies said they might lay off workers in the next three months due to COVID-19 and more than a third (37%) of those companies said they had stopped recruitment.

 


7. Stop the Spread of COVID-19, home quarantine order issued in many states


In order to stop the spread of COVID-19, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Arizona, and other states issued home quarantine order on Monday. Federal law allows each state or city to determine to make its own rules when enforcing residents' home quarantine.
