Due to the surge of patients with COVID-19, the work of local medical staff and police in Spain has become busier than before. However, due to the lack of medical materials such as masks and professional protective clothing, they are not able to get necessary self-protection in their work. After learning about this situation, Spanish overseas Chinese businessmen actively organized overseas Chinese to donate epidemic prevention materials to the Spanish government and police.

The Spanish overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce has called on all its members and the majority of overseas Chinese in Spain to help their second hometown-Spain, just as they helped their mother country more than a month ago. Once the initiative was launched, it was immediately responded by members of the chamber of Commerce and overseas Chinese.

March 14th

The Spanish overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Barcelona Qingtian Association, the Barcelona China General Chamber of Commerce and the Spanish Association of Chinese women entrepreneurs donated a batch of anti-epidemic materials to the Badalona municipal government and received thanks from the mayor of Badalona on Twitter.

March 16th

 Members of the Spanish overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and local overseas Chinese braved the heavy rain and sent their existing anti-epidemic materials to the chamber's office. And the chamber contacted local institutions and donated them in time.

At present, Spain is in a state of emergency, the workload of the police is greatly increased, and most of the field personnel have to contact different people or objects at any time, directly exposed to the threat of the epidemic, so the epidemic prevention demand is very urgent.

In the case of an extreme lack of epidemic prevention materials in Spain, the police who came to collect materials from the Chinese community expressed their thanks to the overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the overseas Chinese.

The afternoon of March 16th

 Mr. Amoros, the head of the department of equality, immigration and citizenship of the government of the autonomous region of Catalonia, received donations on behalf of the local elderly community. He said that there are more than 1000 elderly communities in Catalonia autonomous region, and the elderly are the most vulnerable group in the epidemic. Therefore, when he learned that the overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce had the anti-epidemic materials donated by overseas Chinese, he came to collect them as soon as possible. At the same time, on behalf of these elderly people, he also expressed his gratitude for the generous donation to the Chinese community.

March 16th

Chen Lijun, a member of overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, sent masks and other urgently needed materials to the local police in Viladecans; and Hua Xinyu, an overseas Chinese, donated masks and disinfectant free solution to the local police in Sabadell.

March 17th

Zhang Xia, the representative of the overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and the Chinese living in Montgat donated masks, gloves, and other anti-epidemic materials to Montgat municipal government. 

Spanish overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce said that just as viruses have no nationality, unity has no borders. All overseas Chinese should take the spirit of great love, carry forward the fine tradition of the Chinese nation's willingness to help others, show the hearts and responsibilities of the overseas Chinese in major countries, and fight against the epidemic together.

近日，由于新冠患者的激增，西班牙当地医护人员和警方工作更加繁忙，但是由于短缺口罩及专业防护服等医疗物资，医院人员和警察在工作中都得不到必要的自我防护。在得知这一情况后，西班牙侨商积极组织海外侨胞向西班牙政府、警方捐赠防疫物资。

西班牙侨商会号召全体会员和广大旅西华侨华人，像一个多月前帮助祖国母亲一样来帮助第二故乡——西班牙共度难关。倡议一经发出，立即受到商会成员和广大侨胞的积极响应。

3月14日

西班牙侨商会和巴塞罗那青田同乡会、巴塞罗那中华总商会、西班牙华商女企业家协会向巴达洛纳市政府捐赠了一批防疫物资。巴达洛纳市长特地发Twitter致谢。

3月15日 

巴塞罗那阴雨朦胧，西班牙侨商会成员和当地侨胞冒着大雨，将各自现有的抗疫物资，送到商会办公室，并由侨商会联系当地的机构，及时向其捐赠。

由于目前西班牙全国处于紧急状态，警察们的工作量大大增加，而且大部分外勤人员时刻要接触不同的人或物，直接暴露在疫情的威胁下，防疫需求非常迫切。在西班牙全境防疫物资极度缺乏的情况下，能收到来自华人社区的捐赠，前来领取物资的警察对侨商会和热心侨胞表示了衷心的感谢。

3月16日下午

加泰罗尼亚自治区政府平等、移民和公民事物局局长阿莫罗斯先生代当地的老年人社区领取捐赠物资。阿莫罗斯先生称，目前在加区有超过1000个老年人社区，而老年人又是在这次新冠疫情中，最容易受到伤害的群体，因此，当他得知侨商会有华侨华人捐赠的防疫物资后，第一时间赶过来领取。同时，他也代表加区的老年人，感谢了华人社区的慷慨捐赠。

3月16日 

商会成员陈礼军向Viladecans当地警方送去口罩等急需物资；华侨华鑫煜先生向Sabadell当地警方捐赠口罩和免洗消毒液。

3月17日

侨商会代表章夏和居住在Montgat华人代表一起向Montgat市政府捐赠口罩、手套等防疫物资。

西班牙侨商会表示，病毒无国籍，团结无国界。所有海外侨胞都要本着大爱无疆的精神，发扬中华民族“一方有难八方支援”的优良传统，展示大国侨民的胸怀和担当，共同抗击疫情。
