On March 17th, the Federation for Returned Overseas Chinese of Zhejiang Province just received a thank-you letter from a student's parents at Fuyang District, Hangzhou. After the epidemic spread abroad, schools were closed. The parents immediately booked a ticket for their daughter to return home and truthfully filled up the health declaration form. Through lots of efforts, their daughter smoothly returned. At the moment when the parents saw their daughter at Pudong International Airport, both of them were filled with tears.

Frontline personnel generally have two meals a day

"International students and their family members are targets of our federation for returned overseas Chinese. " Zhejiang government has set six service areas at the two airports of Shanghai. The workgroup of Luo Nengqiang (a member from the Economy and Technology Promotion Department of the Federation for Returned Overseas Chinese of Zhejiang Province) is at T1. Nengqiang Luo said that at present, he answers 30 to 40 calls for consultation a day, mostly from overseas students’ parents. "It’s not easy being parents".

After answering the call for help from the girl’s parents, he went to the airport punctually to wait for that girl to come out after the customs inspection. The girl came out with two of her classmates. The three of them had worn protective clothes, goggles, gloves, and facial masks over the whole journey of 15 hours back home, without eating or drinking anything.

Luo Nengqiang taught them how to correctly take their protective clothes and goggles off. Then, he asked them to get themselves disinfected and their hands washed. In addition, he invited them to dine at McDonald's to relieve their uneasiness and exhaustion. When the parents rushed there late for traffic jams, Luo Nengqiang had escorted their daughters to wait for them at No.7 Gate. Before the girls left with their parents, he also mentioned, "You shall be self-isolated for 14 days after returning home."

"Frontline staff generally have two meals a day, because they are too busy to eat," Luo said. At present, the number of overseas Chinese returning to Zhejiang is growing every day and the workload is increasing accordingly. In particular, policemen and doctors are hardworking.

There are workgroups from Zhejiang who are on duty for epidemic prevention and control at airports and ports of Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi’an, Xiamen, Yiwu, and Quzhou. They take turns to wait for, pick up and serve the returned overseas Chinese all day long, sending "warm gifts to the returned overseas Chinese".
