US student delegation explores top universities in Zhejiang

A delegation composed of students from over 20 US universities arrived in Zhejiang to begin an in-depth visit to Westlake University and Zhejiang University on July 3. 


Within the campuses of Westlake University and Zhejiang University, the US students engaged in extensively with local students and professors through visits to laboratories, classrooms and student activity centers. 


Anthony Xu, a undergraduate of Harvard College with a degree in Biology, shared his impressions. 


"The advanced facilities and rich resources of these universities left a deep impression on me. I am passionate about the field of medicine, and this visit greatly deepened my desire to continue my studies and work in China in the future," he said.


Emma Kirkwood, a student of foreign affairs at the University of Virginia, said that these are one of the most impressive universities she have visited so far. "I particularly liked the personalized attention to student learning and the one-on-one interaction model between professors and students," she said.


During the visit, the student delegation also delved into discussions with local Chinese students about the differences and similarities of the political, cultural and educational systems between China and the United States.
