On August 6, 2021, KERRY ART LIVE.— "Shang Simin's Fantastic World" officially opened at Hangzhou Kerry Centre. The art space on the third floor of the Kerry Centre has been transformed into an event venue, where guests can share their views and insights on contemporary art.

KERRY ART LIVE., a brand-new event created by the Hangzhou Kerry Centre, aims to create a public space for visitors to get close to art by inviting different artists to hold various types of art exhibitions, letting each visitor obtain the energy of art.

Artist Shang Simin's solo exhibition "ISLE of Pandan: The Fantastic World of Shang Simin" is the first exhibition of KERRY ART LIVE. The exhibition features a selection of Shang Simin's early to recent works, which are reinterpreted with innovative artistic expression in a unique commercial art space. In this Fantastic World, an eccentric twin-tailed girl named Pandan and two cats appear in different corners of the Kerry Centre.

Contemporary artist Shang Simin was born in Hangzhou in 1983, graduated from China Academy of Art and University of the Arts London. During his study in England, he was influenced by conceptual art. After returning to China, he has tried to create and explore different fields, such as painting, animation and so on. Through the multi-dimensional study of social and current events, he continues to interpret and explore the conceptual visual language.
