According to Yiwu Customs, the total value of imports and exports in Yiwu, East China's Zhejiang province, hit 405.83 billion yuan ($56.61 billion), a year-on-year increase of 25 percent.
To further optimize the business environment, Yiwu has taken the lead in creating a digital trade system that enables businesses to go online and expand globally, and introduced innovative trade strategies, such as aligning cross-border e-commerce with industrial clusters.
The China-Europe freight trains made 1,601 trips from Yiwu to Europe, transporting 130,000 standard containers in the first half of 2025, an increase of 11 percent.
Customs data show that the value of Yiwu's imports and exports to Africa, Latin America, and the European Union each increased by over 15 percent year-on-year, while trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations saw a massive year-on-year increase of 43.7 percent from January to June 2025.
Trade with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative hit 273.82 billion yuan, accounting for 67.5 percent of Yiwu's total import and export value during the same period.
