According to Huzhou Customs, Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province recorded a 16.1 percent increase in trade with countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, totaling 38.66 billion yuan ($5.38 billion) in the first four months of this year.

At Zhejiang Zhongshan Chemical Industry Group in Huzhou's Changxing county, a bustling factory was recently producing a batch of herbicides worth $200,000 destined for Vietnam and Indonesia.

Wang Guihua, the company's international trade manager, said that Zhongshan Chemical has shifted its market focus from North America to Belt and Road countries and regions, which now account for 40 percent of its exports. The company exported products worth $20 million to these markets from January to April, representing a 10 percent year-on-year growth.

More Huzhou enterprises are leveraging the BRI to increase their global influence. Zhejiang Sany Equipment Company stands out, exporting its flagship loaders to Southeast Asia and Russia. In just two years, the company has expanded to over 120 countries and regions, with 80 percent of its exports going to Belt and Road countries and regions.

Sany Equipment generated 900 million yuan in exports in the first four months, 700 million yuan of which came from exports to Belt and Road countries and regions.

To further integrate local businesses into the BRI, Huzhou Customs plans to enhance policy services and streamline customs procedures, transforming policy benefits into growth drivers for Chinese manufacturing on the Silk Road.
